How Formulary Atlas works

Formulary Atlas is built on the same pipeline as PayerPolicy Watch — commercial carrier formulary documents are a subset of the same policy PDFs. Medicare Part D data is sourced directly from CMS HPMS formulary files (one file per plan per year). State Medicaid PDLs share the PayerPolicy Watch ingest. Each drug is tracked with a canonical identifier (RxCUI) to normalize across brand and generic names.
